Not surprising to say, but life hardly works out how you think.

I once heard, Write your plans in pencil, Yahweh will write your life in pen.

I had written some “plans” in pen in a small notebook at the beginning of the year. Today I reviewed them and, no surprise, how things have unfolded in life barely match what I wrote on paper. In hindsight, it would have been better to literally “write my plans in pencil.”
