Intellectual humility
Intellectual pursuit apart from intellectual humility is fruitless.
Unless we have humility, we’re not going to get very far in our intellectual pursuits.
Part of intellectual humility is being able to respectfully disagree with someone.
It’s not about giving leeway or conceding your position in the disagreement. It is about having the humility to recognize that you could be wrong about something and that you yourself should be on the same plane of seeking truth as the other person. Then the focus is on seeking truth (where it should be) rather than on trying to win an argument or sound intelligent.
Intellectual humility is also having humility to submit ourselves to the wisdom of the One who created the mind—Yahweh our Heavenly Father.
