Truth matters
Would you lie to someone to make them feel good about themselves and avoid conflict?
Hopefully you wouldn’t. I wouldn’t.
And yet, many advocate that we should do so.
It’s not being honest or loving to deny reality just to make someone feel good about themselves. Quite the opposite.
Sure, the truth hurts sometimes, but we certainly shouldn’t be so concerned about “rocking the boat” that we no longer care what is true anymore.
And guess what, once they find out that you lied just to keep them happy (if not in this life, the next), anyone feeling person would wonder why you lied to them—why you didn’t hold fast to the truth.
Lying to someone is cowardly and uncaring (if not selfish as well), so let’s be people of truth and people who care. :)
