Not even close
Have you ever considered how Satan is not even close to being equal to Yahweh, our Heavenly Father, in power?
We sometimes say it’s “good vs. evil”, as if a superhero has met his match in the form of a villain. This isn’t an entirely accurate picture though.
It might feel like evil is very powerful sometimes, but the reality is that this is not a level playing field. Satan’s limited power is no match for the power of Yahweh. In fact, Satan was a creation of Yahweh and must ask Yahweh to grant him anything. In Job 1 (starting at verse 6) we see Satan coming before Yahweh to ask whether he can do this or that to Job. This should be a reminder of Romans 28:31b: “If Yahweh be for us, who can be against us?”
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love Yahweh, to them who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If Yahweh be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of Yahweh’s elect? It is Yahweh that justifieth.
